About Wei Yein
Early Life & Career
With a background in copywriting, she started her career in advertising and marketing—fields that naturally evolved into her next venture: the events business. As a self-proclaimed introvert, Wei Yein found her early creative expression through handmade jewellery, even running an online store called Trinxx. It was during this phase that she encountered a key problem—the lack of accessible, quality craft materials locally. This gap would later become the foundation of her entrepreneurial journey.
After running an events and marketing company for several years, she and her husband began exploring ways to diversify beyond a niche client base. This led to a bold decision: stepping into the unknown world of retail and e-commerce, despite having no prior experience, no mentors, and no roadmap.
Entrepreneurial Venture
Wei Yein is the co-founder of Craftiviti, a unique platform that blends retail, education, and experience in the crafting space. What started as a business selling raw materials for DIY aroma and spa products—such as candles, soaps, bath bombs, and lip balms—quickly evolved into something much bigger.
Craftiviti’s workshops are especially distinctive. Designed for corporates, they encourage professionals to pause from fast-paced work environments, engage in hands-on creation, rediscover creativity and presence.
Wei Yein has seen firsthand how even highly analytical professionals—engineers, CFOs, executives—transform during these sessions, often describing the experience as “therapeutic.”
Life Today & Personal Philosophy
Today, Wei Yein continues to build her work around the belief that creativity is not separate from life, but deeply embedded within it. She sees entrepreneurship as an evolving journey where growth comes from constantly stepping into the unknown, embracing uncertainty, and learning through action rather than overthinking.
Her personal philosophy is grounded in the idea that human beings are natural creators who often forget their own creative capacity in the rhythm of daily life. Through her work and workshops, she encourages people to slow down, reconnect with hands-on creation, and rediscover the joy of making something with intention.
She also believes that progress is less about perfection and more about movement. For her, resilience is built by taking action, learning from mistakes, and continuously asking “what next” instead of remaining stuck in doubt or fear.
